Full Program Description

The 2023 edition of the Under 45 CEOs Business & Leadership Summit, hosted by UDUF Africa, expanded the summit's impact with a stronger focus on leadership activation, entrepreneurial execution, and direct business empowerment. Designed for founders, young executives, and enterprise builders under 45, the summit delivered a practical leadership and business growth program centered on intentional action and sustainable value creation.

The summit gathered business leaders, mentors, educators, and institutional voices to equip participants with mindset tools, operational direction, and real financial support opportunities. The program structure combined keynote teaching, leadership development sessions, founder experience talks, skills advocacy segments, competitive business pitching, and recognition awards.

2023 Summit in Action - Leadership session

A defining feature of the 2023 edition was the integration of grant-backed business pitching, moving beyond training into measurable enterprise support.

Opening Leadership Address

In his opening remarks, Mr. Smart Chinedu Ezuma, Founding President of UDUF Africa, positioned the summit as part of a broader mission to correct leadership gaps across Africa by shaping young leaders early. He stressed that leadership thinking must be intentionally developed during the most productive years of life and that individuals under 45 are in their peak performance window.

He urged participants to approach their future deliberately — with clarity of purpose, innovation, and responsibility — emphasizing that leadership quality directly determines societal outcomes.

Keynote & Leadership Mindset Session

Lead Speaker: Mr. Valentine (Val) Ozigbo — Former Transcorp President and business leader.

His address centered on emotional intelligence as a core leadership advantage across business and life. He explained that technical knowledge alone is insufficient for sustainable success without people-awareness, emotional discipline, and character strength.

He challenged participants to pursue excellence with intensity and to build their ventures with visible passion and professional standards. His message reinforced that excellence and emotional maturity are competitive differentiators in leadership.

Entrepreneurial Growth & Mindset Session

Speaker: Dr. Ikenna Ifejiofor — Managing Director, Ike God Foods Industries Ltd.

Drawing from his personal entrepreneurial journey, he taught that leadership progress is driven first by mindset before resources. He encouraged young entrepreneurs to think long-term, dream at scale, but begin with manageable steps and disciplined execution.

Skills & Self-Sufficiency Advocacy Sessions

Multiple speakers addressed the changing employment landscape and the need for skills-based self-reliance among young people. Contributors included Pastor Sam Obiorah, Ngozi Ezeasor, Oluwatoyin Taiwo Banjo, Dr. Godson Iroh, and Prof. Olusegun Sogbesan (Onitsha Business School). They collectively emphasized that traditional white-collar job paths are shrinking and that young leaders must prioritize technical skills, enterprise creation, and service-based competencies to remain economically relevant.

Business Pitching & Grant Empowerment Program

The central highlight of the 2023 summit was a competitive business pitching segment where selected entrepreneurs presented their ventures before a review panel. Following evaluation, three entrepreneurs received ₦1,000,000 empowerment grants each to accelerate their businesses: Mrs. Chiamaka Amubi-Onusonye, Mrs. Amarachi Okpala-Onwuamaegbu, and Mr. Ebenebe Bethel Christian. The grants were supported and presented through summit partners and senior facilitators.

Summit Outcomes

The 2023 edition strengthened the Under 45 CEOs Summit model by pairing leadership development with direct financial empowerment. Participants gained not only strategic insight and leadership direction but also access to capital support through competitive pitching. The event reinforced active leadership, execution discipline, and skills-driven entrepreneurship as the pathway toward a more sustainable African business ecosystem.
